hello all my name is mark, i recently purchased my 280z last week. I think i got a good deal, it had a rebuilt motor 8k ago (no paperwork though:( ), new exhaust, new headers, cai, redone interior, everything works, from the am/fm radio to the ac system. I paid $1900 but it does have some floorpan rust issues  wheel wells are in good shape. it has some patches of rust around the car. I have been looking for one of these for a long time and i bought it locally! so heres the pics of her and yes for some reason the original owner badged it as a zx but it is not. if anybody notice anything out of place or inconsistent please let me know.

Looks like the wheels and steering wheel are from a zx and perhaps the tranny to or at least the shifter looks like it might be from a newer car not sure some one chime in here. I think over all if everthing else is as you said $1900 is a good price for a 280z in that condition.

Hi Mark - For the money, it looks to me that your car was well bought. As far as what is out of place in the pictures, someone better qualified than me could answer. Take care of the rust issues and correct the other few problems the best you can and have fun with it. It looks nice in the pics.

thanks for all the comments looking at the plate on the drivers side door this 280 is actually a 77 with a build date of 12/77. all i plan on doing to it is some brake rehab (terrible noises) some new floorpans, some new paint and maybe some konig rewinds(i always loved the way those looked and now i have an excuse to pick them up)then i will have a very decent z on my hands.

Please post photos of the floor pans before you go cutting them out ... we can help determine if they are in so bad of shape that you will need to replace them. Also check out the frame rails on the bottom. They tend to rust to.

Any questions, just use the search feature and if you can't find what you need feel free to post. The 280's are great cars to own!
