zbane Posted April 28, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 28, 2007 Check this place out-it's in the Savannah area...http://www.unlimitedspeed.nethouse lots start at $675,000, and then there's the $1,800 per month homeowner fee....I wonder what sort of cars will find their way around that track, and of those being driven, how many will be driven as intended? zbane Posted April 28, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted April 28, 2007 If we all chip in, I bet we could pull it off-some of those houses have 6+ bedrooms...We could have our own private timeshare sort of thing. But still, it is way too expensive for my blood. gnosez Posted April 28, 2007 Share #4 Posted April 28, 2007 I liked the property for sale a year or so ago in southern Italy that had over 100 acres, a 800 yr old castle, a modern 6 bdr house w/pool and a 3.2km race track and paddock. A stable of cars were to be sold separately. The track had several elevation changes and a 3/4 mile straightaway.Cost w/o cars was less than $2 million. Marty Rogan Posted April 28, 2007 Share #5 Posted April 28, 2007 I saw that one a while ago. If a lot costs $675K, I would hate to see what the houses cost, ! I would bet there will be a bounch of Ferrari's, Lambo's and Porches' driven by peope that don't know how to drive them. One of our local car dealer's held a track day at the Autobahn. http://www.autobahncountryclub.net/ I got invited through the Windy City Z Club. They own a Nissan dealership, as well as about 8-9 others, including one that sells Ferrai's, Lambo's and other exotics. My yellow 240Z was the only Z Car that showed up and was by far the cheapest car there. The people were friendly and a lot of them came by to see and talk about the Z. The guy with the 911 came with his own 2 man pit crew. The mechanics were pretty impressed with the old Z and gave it many compliments. Most of the guys there had more money than talent. The owner's son showed up with full race Ferrari and a Lotus. Clearly, he knew what to do with them. It was a real blast passing Ferrari's and Porche's. Funny, I never got invited back, !!! Darrel Posted April 28, 2007 Share #6 Posted April 28, 2007 That's the way new tracks are getting built. Country club style. There's a couple of proposed tracks like that attempting to go up in eastern colorado.http://genoamotorsports.com/The amatuer clubs are attempting to get our own track built 40 mile east of denver. SCCA, PCA, MRA(motorclycle roadracing assoc), RMVR(vintage racing), MCCA(multi car club assoc--8 clubs, bmw, viper, cobra, audi, mercedes, alpha, lotus and z club.)We're getting closer, it will be a barebones track. Still waiting for all the dotted I's and crossed t's. Hopefully by '08http://www.camplaps.org/After our local road course closed in '05 we have had to either drive 120 miles or drive on a tri-oval track(boring).
