Posted May 6, 200717 yr comment_208629 Well I got these seats from Craigslist yesterday, I have been keeping an eye out for some as the seats I had in there need to be redone... Waddya think? And should I do the steering wheel?? I can't decide... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24243-newer-seats-opinions/ Share on other sites
May 6, 200717 yr comment_208634 nice! i would go with a nice nardi wheel since it seems you're going more for a modern look on the interior with the seats. also, at the same time, replace the shift knob with one that matches the steering wheel. my $0.02 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24243-newer-seats-opinions/#findComment-208634 Share on other sites

May 7, 200717 yr comment_208664 Brian,The seats look great, they fit in well with the rest of the car. I like what you've done with the appearance. The ground effects, mirrors, nice wheels/tires and how you've blacked out some of the trim. Looks nice and agressive!Bruce Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24243-newer-seats-opinions/#findComment-208664 Share on other sites
May 7, 200717 yr comment_208670 Looks great! I'd definitely get a black shift knob. Love the look of your car. What size and brand of tire are you running on it? May 7, 200717 yr comment_208671 Brian's tires are Toyo Proxes 4. Since he lives here in the NW also, he got them at Les Schwab. I have those same tires in 225/45-17 on our family sedan ('96 328i). Very pleased with them.I think his rims are 15" but don't know that for certain. May 7, 200717 yr comment_208691 I think a Nardi wheel is too old school to match those seats. Maybe a Momo wheel would look better. I have one in my 240K, doesn't suit the car at all. May 7, 200717 yr comment_208696 ^ya, amomo wheel would look good. FWIF, i didn't mean the classic nardi wheel (a la porsche, ferrari, etc.) more along these lines: (from http://www.carmansgarage.com/category/car.aftermarket/ ) and then be mated with one of these shift knobs: JMHO Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24243-newer-seats-opinions/#findComment-208696 Share on other sites
May 7, 200717 yr Author comment_208721 I like that steering wheel at the top, I am sure that I don't want to know the price... What size and brand of tire are you running on it? Those are 205/55/15 Proxes 4 on 15x7 Hayashi rims. I am really happy with those tires... I like what you've done with the appearance. The ground effects, mirrors, nice wheels/tires and how you've blacked out some of the trim. Looks nice and agressive! THANKS BRUCE!!! It's no show winner for sure, it has it's share of typical Z issues, the paint although is not too bad really needs to be redone due to "crows feet" on the hood from bad prepping from the last apint job... And I need to replace the dog legs for sure, that is a (hopefully) spring project. It's a 10/10 car, 10 feet of 10 MPH... I am still thinking about switching back to the chrome bumpers as I have a set... Opinions?? May 7, 200717 yr comment_208729 on your car i think that the black bumpers fit the style well. IMO your car is a case when the chrome bumpers wouldn't look as nice. i really like your setup as well - everything goes together nicely Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24243-newer-seats-opinions/#findComment-208729 Share on other sites
May 8, 200717 yr comment_208762 Two votes for the mesh wheels!! Hayashi mesh wheels are like fine jewelry. It's a shame that style is not more popular. Next time I would go for a bit bigger tire like a 225/50/15. I think you would like the larger footprint. Even with a 1" drop my '78 280Z doesn't rub or complain--with 15x7 ARE mesh wheels.
