Member gira won the E Production race at the SCCA National at Daytona this weekend. He took pole and broke the E Prod track record as well. Here are some of my pics from the race & a short video link.

Hi Mark:

Thanks for the pictures... it is simply wonderful to see a Datsun 240-Z at the front of the pack 38 years after it's introduction.

Maybe it's just me - but I hate to see "NISSAN" on a DATSUN 240-Z here in the States. I wonder how much money he is getting from NISSAN for the advertising? Maybe we could offer him more to put DATSUN back on the car..

regards,

Carl B.

I suspect that the entire hood just lifts off Greg's car - no need for the extra weight of the hinge mechanism - but it sure looks odd to see those hold downs near the leading edge as well as at the back.

You are welcome. I agree. I love seeing the 240Z still winning 38 years later. Nissan does require their name on the car as shown as part of the requirements for payout on National wins.

Here is another Youtube link from another thread in case you missed it. It is Greg's car chasing a RX7 in 2005 VIR Oak Tree National. This battle was for the Southeast Division title.

That is one sweet looking "Z" Racer -

If I'm not mistaken that was car I saw at the run-offs that made me decide to build a "Z" car and not regretting it at all!!!

Having way too much fun to go back to the Spitfire for sure-

Wish him good luck this year for me!!
