I know there's a thread on this somewhere but I could not find it. My question is this. Besides the ash tray will a 72 center cosole mount right up to a 70z with an August build date?

The choke lever assembly is completely different as well. Best to stick with the early style console, which was used through 7/71 build at least, perhaps into 8/71.

My 11/70 has the early style console and the fast idle lever too.

The question was will it mount up. I don't think it's worthless to you though it might take a little effort to install it. I'll defer to the 240Z guys as to how much. I know the 280Z consoles interchange among the 280Z's but I'm not familiar with the fitment issues among the 240Z's.

Oh, I'm pretty certain it would fit in the car. But pretty much everything else would need to be changed along with it. The choke assembly, defroster switch, fuse cover, etc. There is also a possibility that the hole for the shift boot/lever is farther forward on the later consoles to match the Type B shift lever position. Might need a bit of tweaking there too.
