Posted May 11, 200717 yr comment_209219 Well, I'm sweltering away in an Internet Cafe in Greece. My mom and uncle, both aging, invited me along on a cruise of the Med/Adriatic. I haven't seen any Zs, but a Ferrari tried to get splattered by our tour bus in Dubrovnik, Croatia. I've seen tons of old Datsun Pickups (and Nissan of course) as well as a Yogo pickup here in Greece. Seems we only got those lovely VW Rabbit types. I'd stay connected with the club because I'm getting withdrawls but it is 95 cents a minute on shipboard, nearly $60 an hour - those Putanas. Anyway it is about $8 an hour here and well worth the extra sweat. Altho I'm crammed in behind the table with all the wires because I'm using my laptop instead of one of their machines. I'll check back when I have more time. Which I could save everything and check it out off-line. If I spot a Z I'll be sure to take a pic. Back to Italy soon, then back to the states. May 11, 200717 yr comment_209223 Hi Gary, Thanks for the little bitta international flavour.... Yes I'm jealousROFL . Might be suprised just what you see on the roads over there. Over the years I've got the impression that there was quite a bit of variety imported into Greece during the '60's. May 11, 200717 yr comment_209235 Hi Gary:Thanks for the travel log - take plenty of pictures..It would be surprising to see many Datsuns or Older Nissans in Europe from the 60's, 70's 80's or even 90's. Europe's EEU and GB, just finally dropped their protective trade tariffs carried over from WW-II around 2002. Nissan Motors had built some production plants there in an effort to gain entry into those markets and the tie up with Renault now should result far greater European market sales in the coming years. {at least Carlos is counting on that}.FWIW,Carl B. May 12, 200717 yr Author comment_209382 I'm in Messina, Sicily today in an Internet Cafe' with actual Wi-Fi and air conditioning. Still no Zs, but there are other sites besides the churches I've found to keep me occupied. I might just reverse my family's trend emigrate back to Sicily and the land of my great grandfather. Altho I'll be one of the few 6.5 footers (nearly 2 meters I guess) Italians around. Here's a taste of the local offerings. Que Libidine' (my Italians very rusty, but getting better, I think anyway.) Got to be better than my spelling of Yugo last post. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24294-hello-from-corfu/#findComment-209382 Share on other sites
May 12, 200717 yr Author comment_209383 Those would be a couple (is that counted as two or four? Oh that's right this isn't the breast thread) of Sicily's finest. The Italian girls are beautiful. Take care. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24294-hello-from-corfu/#findComment-209383 Share on other sites

May 23, 200717 yr Author comment_210457 They look to be about 14 or 15... otherwise they would be driving not walking... Can you make it to the Ferrari Factory? FWIW, Carl B. Carl, I'm back in the U.S. now. No chance to go to the Ferrari Factory. I wish. The young women were closer to 25+ than 20 even. They're one import I would have liked to have brought back with me. Too much for my carry on. I had a great time on my trip, wish I could have had more time. Took care of most of the touristy things tho. Altho I didn't get much of Rome, but the airport. Saw literally thousands of scooters, many Vespas. They've got the cool factor and are especially popular in Seattle (on the wet/west side of the state), but at 6'6" I might be a little out of place on one. Maybe when I was 14 or 15 years-old. Seems like most of the expensive cars were Beemers or Mercedes. Lots of little Fiats, Opels, Renaults, Citroens, etc. Smart cars too. As our driver said in Florence Smart for two or Smart for four. Very expensive. At least they could park nose or tail in to the curb in a space normally motorcycle size. My mom and uncle probably thought I was nuts for paying almost as much attention to the cars as I did the tourists sights. What else are you going to do as you're riding through the various cities between attractions? I'll post some trip photos once I've gone thru the hundreds I took. You're right, for a newspaper editor I get kind of sloppy when I'm typing on the forums some times.
