Moving to Atlanta

Well, I was offered a job this week in Atlanta, and I couldn't turn it down. I'll be starting in June. Now I have to get the Z in good shape so I can get it down there. I'm just looking forward to living in a place where I can have at least a two car garage so I can work on the car.

Sweet. Mind I ask what you are coming from and going to? Have any idea what part of the city you are wanting to move too? I have a buddy who lives just north of Atlanta and it is a very nice place.

What all do you need to get done to your z car?

I am hoping myself to get my Z out here in August. Need to put some $1500 to $2000 worth of work into it to make it road worthy/ready. I really want to get that thing out here. There are a lot of Z meetings that I would love to go to in Atlanta, and there are a lot of people on this forum that are around here that would be cool to meet up with and do a little driving.

Steve,

I spent 5 years in Atlanta...big place, get used to commuting (ha! Coming from NoVa you should be totally comfortable with that...) The Z Club there is active and friendly, based out of the North Altanta suburbs. Don't forget--you'll be able to go to the Mitty without driving 8-10 hours each way!

Good luck on the job, the move etc. Enjoy that 2-car garage! After awhile you'll be standing in your backyard wondering where your freestanding 2-car "shop" can go....

I'm moving from Woodbridge, VA to the Alpharetta area. The company is in Alpharetta, so I won't have to commute into the city. Steve, the wife already knows that I'll be looking for a yard big enough to build a shop in. :) Thanks for the reminder about the Mitty. Boy, my wife is in trouble now.

I already sent a message to the local Z club. It will be nice having meetings in my own back yard and having a job where I'm not so short-staffed that I can never break away for the club meetings.

Anyway, I was working on the intake & exhaust, but I never got close to finishing it. So, I'll button up everything just to get it running and fix it properly when I get down there.
