Mud guards? Yes or No?

I vote no to the chrome/polished ones. I bought a set of the black ones from MSA a few years back , but cant bring my self to install them either. I really prefer the clean look with out. I may change my mind and do them anyway one day. I painted mine metallic black . Gary

Ed - My neighbour runs an auto detailing business and sells a 3M product that he applies to hoods and front ends on customer cars to save the paint. Don't see why you couldn't apply it to the rocker panels. It's a clear tape that they cut to fit, and apply directly to the panel. Just a thought...

Hrm... might be cool if they showed some "battle scars" ...

I'd love to see them after traveling 50+ mph on a gravel road... lots of little dents, dingers... and maybe even a hole or two? ... Then they'd be awesome :D

Right now they're a bit showish/garagequeen for my taste. Sorry

Ed,

To add or not to add, that is the question.

And, as with so many things pertaining to Zeds, it's a question that only YOU can answer.

However, having asked for opinions, here's mine.

I've been considering adding mudflaps as an added protection against paintchips. Those tin things you've got are only good for use on a trailer queen that would never be driven on the open road anyway.

I've been considering black rubber guards, such as you see on the modern cars that actually stick out beyond the body line, which would be necessary to give ANY protection to paintwork.

Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure that it will be the best for YOU.

Enigma,

That rough, bubbly stuff you refer to, while I don't know what it is, was applied to my "Precious" PRIOR to painting. Seems to work well.

Rick.
