Hello. I just purchased my first Z, a 1978 280Z 5sp. I'm thrilled to be driving it. I have been reading various posts on this site, and have come to a conclusion that I will upgrade my front brakes to the toyota 4x4 caliper setup in the future. So I decided that I should first upgrade the brake MC to the bigger bore 15/16" size from the Early 280ZX and bleed the fluids. My question is, Would anybody care to comment on buying a "Remufactured" Master cylinder whereas to buying a new one? If anyone has any suggestions or has installed "reman" Brake cylinders on their Z's, which remanufacturer brand would you recommend? thanks.

Talked to my crew chief today, he's a professional mechanic and owns his own shop. He says he will never use a remanufactured master cylinder -- especially one with an aluminum housing. He says that they have a high rate of failure.
