May 22, 200717 yr comment_210356 Not many people running wire wheels on these cars here, so there's not much real world experience with wires specifically. But selecting wire wheels that fit properly is no different than any other wheel. You are going to want no wider than 7", and as close to zero offset as you can get. If you are looking for 15" choices, you want 15x7 with around zero offset (4" backside setting). roper tire sizes for those wheels would be 205/60-15, 225/55-15, or 225/50-15 (225/50 is just a bit shorter than stock or 225/60-14). May 23, 200717 yr Author comment_210372 I expected that you'll reply to this thread Arne, I didn't want to bother you by a PM since we had disscussed this issue before on a quick way..I'm running 225/60/-14 but for those wire wheels, I think going to 15 would look nicer with maybe 225/55-15??I know that not many people use those rims, but they look really hot according to me.. and I really need to know more about them, new or used.. May 23, 200717 yr comment_210385 BuDavid, I have a set of 14" Dayton wire wheels that came with my 1972 when I bought it. They hardly have any miles on them (the car only has 37,000). I have the paperwork and invoice for them around here somewhere. The original owner bought them new from Victoria British in the early 1990's I think for around $1200 for the set. It looks like your link shows them to be over $500 each now. I have the lug nuts for them as well. I am attaching some pictures of them I took last summer and one from when they were still mounted on the car. PM me if you are interested. -Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24409-wire-wheels-sourcessizes-needed-i-did-my-study-allready-on-search/#findComment-210385 Share on other sites
