My Honda recently hit 500,000 miles. The car has been in the family since new and 452,000 of the miles are mine.

I am very happy.

P.S. I have decided to hold on to my Z for a while longer. Although I have many things to take care of before I can get it on the road.

That's cool. My Toyota truck is at 235,000 and would probably go forever, but eventually rust will claim it. I think I can make it to 250k before it gets too ugly to drive in my neighborhood.

At least you only have to worry about the mechanical stuff. Keeping a body alive for 500k is much tougher in the rust belt.

Wow!!!! A record setting "return on investment" if engine and drivetrain are still original.

If it is original, contact your local Honda dealer to sell if they or the Regional Sales Rep would have any interest for promotional material.

What year is your Honda? Instrument panel looks like a 98 - 02 Accord, but I could be wrong. Next to the Z, Honda is my next favorite vehicle.

mbc, I looked at your site, and thought you might want to know the issue regarding your choke could be the heat riser "flap". My wifes 88 had that issue up here in washington. The part is about 60 bucks. its a little motor that opens the flap when the car is warmed up. Our honda mechanic(who also drives an 88) says its pretty common with high mileage Accords.

Yeah It's called a "choke heater". I just wanted a temporary fix. Now that the car reached 500k, I will sell it for scrap.

Its crazy the only thing done is a clutch replacement.

My S10 is almost at 210,000. I wish it would die so that I can get something else like a Ramcharger, but I think that it is going to go forever. Everything on it is still original except for the alternator and A/C compressor.

I recently had to take it to the shop, and I think that I might have to end up getting a whole new exhaust system depending on what really is wrong the with truck.

Between all of my vehicles ( 2001 Toyota Tundra, 2000 Honda S2000, 1986 Toyota Van.........oh ya I think I have a Z too), I average about 42,000 miles a year total. I own a small construction company here in San Diego, so I am always on the road. The Honda was used the most because it still could get 36mpg.

Regular unleaded down where I live is quickly reaching $4/gal
