mbc Posted May 27, 2007 Author Share #13 Posted May 27, 2007 Today, I sold the Honda to the local scrap yard for $170.The car was in service with my family only from 12/02/87 to 5/26/07 and has provided 500,122.2 miles of excellent service. Ultimately, I see this as an opportunity. With the Honda gone, I can now devote some time to that Datsun that's been sitting in my garage for 13 years. Goodbye SuperHonda. P.S. I drove the 28 miles to scrap the car:ermm:
red_dog007 Posted May 27, 2007 Share #14 Posted May 27, 2007 Why would you do such a thing? Could always given it to charity and got a much larger return via your tax returns. If it runs, why destroy it? First year I had my S10 I went 20,000 miles. I really didn't like that much mostly because of gas. Now that my girlfriend is now driving, and I am only going to school part time and not taking any summer classes, I hope to bring this WAY down. Help me save some money!!! Just for that year, I spent some $2,000 on just gas. Doesn't include minor maintenance, and some $170 just for oil changes (oil/filer only.) (after removing any useful parts, like electric fuel pumps, wiper motors). Thats what I did with my honda when it finally died.
