Posted May 28, 200717 yr comment_210768 I am moving (finally !!) on my front end and I would like to freshen everything rubber if possible. Does anyone know where I can get new o-rings that sit between the steering knuckle arm and the bottom of the strut tube casting? Or any official names it may have ?Look at diagram #1 on the top of the pagehttp://www.blackdragonauto.com/icatalog/z/0097.aspThanks as always - this forum is a great resource and I want to thank everyone that posts and especially thank you to those that post pictures. May 28, 200717 yr comment_210772 new ones came with my ball joints...I think they probably do from Black Dragon, also, as #1 appears to encompass all the parts within the dotted line box.HTH,Steve Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24447-where-can-i-buy-the-o-ring-for-the-steering-knuckle-arm/#findComment-210772 Share on other sites
May 29, 200717 yr comment_210792 This is one area where it is 100% safe to use RTV sealant:) Run a 3mm bead around the corner of the knuckle arm and drop the tube on, job done. May 30, 200717 yr comment_210932 yeah I remember this part, this should come with the ball joint I guess.. but a sealan should be able to take care coz there is no differential pressure which might force the dirt to come in..but if you take the old one and go arround spare parts shop or any industrial shops you can find similar one, coz it is just a simple O-ring, not a big deal to be baught from a specialized dealer of S30sgood luck pal. May 30, 200717 yr Author comment_210944 Thanks guys - I bought the MOOG ball joints from Rock Auto and they did not include the o-rings. I found a spot on the web that sells them in all sizes and materials. I will order something close and strech it - or I might just say F%#$ it and use the RTV -thanks for the tip. July 5, 200717 yr Author comment_214250 Luckily I found the old one's and used em. Couldn't find anything on the internet unless I bought a box of 100. The Kragen, Autozone and Dealership guys all tried to help, but to no avail. July 6, 200717 yr comment_214259 Its just a regular old o-ring. Take one of the old ones down to an industrial hardware store (forget Home Depot and Lowes) and you can buy a new replacement for 50 cents.
