Posted June 1, 200717 yr comment_211035 I graduated from high school this year and on May 25 my dad gave me the project car we had been working on for the last few years. It is a 1976 280Z. It was originally an Arizona car and had only been in Canada for the last few years. To our supprise there was absolutley NO rust anywhere on this car! I still need bumpers and an alternator for it and i cant wait to get driving it. Here is my most recent pic of it In the near future i plan on doing some electrical work to it like the headlight harness and find bumpers. June 1, 200717 yr comment_211045 Seems a bit like my Z car. Still needs a lot of work, but is ready for the road.My Z needs an all new interior, but all I need is tires, struts, springs and brakes to get her on the road. Going to be ordering parts here soon for her. There is a bit of electrical work that I need to do for mine. That is the part of the job that I hate most, but it must be done.I really like that color btw. Looks real good :-) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24471-i-finally-got-a-z/#findComment-211045 Share on other sites
June 1, 200717 yr comment_211053 Welcome to the site, Your car is the same color as my 76, not too many that color. It looks like somebody changed the hood, mine does not have the louvers. Good luck with all the work.Michael Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24471-i-finally-got-a-z/#findComment-211053 Share on other sites
June 1, 200717 yr comment_211055 The louvered hood was standard on the 77-78. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24471-i-finally-got-a-z/#findComment-211055 Share on other sites
June 1, 200717 yr Author comment_211076 The colour is what catches most people's eye. In the sunlight you can see a hint of gold in it. it is really stunning. The interior is almost done minus a few piecesmgood - what spoiler is on the front of your car? I really like that look Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24471-i-finally-got-a-z/#findComment-211076 Share on other sites
June 1, 200717 yr comment_211077 To tell you the truth I don't know I put it on about 30 years ago along with the rear spoiler. I know the front air dam is a heavy rubber material and bolts on very easily. They are off a 240Z (unsure of year) and they where re-chromed in the last few years. They look amazing and i cant wait to get em on Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24471-i-finally-got-a-z/#findComment-217195 Share on other sites

August 3, 200717 yr comment_217349 After a very tiny bit of research (asking a friend) I discovered they are not 240Z bumpers, If you are judging by the avatar, my legs are hiding those huge rubber protectors. That bumper is something like five or six inches thick.
