so i just drained the oil out of the differential of my 240z, and i cannot figure out where the opening to put the oil into, any help there would be much appreciated

If you look up in back of the moustache bar you will see the fill plug. There is a cheep little pump that is made for filling the out drive on a boat. It uses clear vinyl tubing and is a hand pump. About $5 or 6 bucks. I don't remember off hand how much the diff holds . Again it depends on weather it is a 180 or 200. Just pump in the differential lube until is starts to run out the fill hole. Then reinstall the plug . Gary

Although the pump is nicer to use you can also get away with jacking the rear end higher and using the pointy spout that comes with the liter of gear lube. (Snip tip of spout of course) Messy, but it works.

Fill plug is a male square protusion which threads in.

While this may work, it will be difficult to know when it's full without dropping the vehicle back down from time to time to see if anything comes out the fill hole. Using this method is potentially very messy as well as unsafe unless you put it on jack stands everytime you jack it up. Based on that, I believe it is easier to by a pump for $4-6 at the auto store and "git er done".
