January 31, 200817 yr Author comment_235869 It's too bad that the microfilm records of the magazines at the library are all in black & white. It should be good just to go read what there is. January 31, 200817 yr comment_235884 A few guys who have had their cars published in recent magazines display the article in the hatch area. I see this at just about every show I go to in at least one car. It definitly helps sway voters in peoples choice if the car has had some national exposure. Perception means a lot in those kind of shows. Showing past awards is popular too. January 31, 200817 yr comment_235927 I have some period ads for both the Z and MGB which are framed (and usually hanging on the wall) that I'll take along and display with the cars for local shows. I also have a framed copy of a magazine article done on one of the Z's I sometimes display as well. Most people I talk to say they really like seeing (and reading) the ads, as it adds some additional nostalgia to the car. :classic: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24490-what-literature-to-display-at-a-show/?&page=2#findComment-235927 Share on other sites

February 1, 200817 yr Author comment_236070 The next thing I would want to discuss is how to show your literature. You could just leave the things sitting out in the open, you could frame them, or you can put them into a book or notebook using clear plastic sleeves. I would probably go forthe latter, but I also have access to a large laminating machine which could laminate full-page magazine ads separately or arraned in groups up to 30 inches wide. You could laminate them into a piece big enough to cover your hood or to use a a sunscreen behind the winscreen!opinions or ideas?thxZ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24490-what-literature-to-display-at-a-show/?&page=2#findComment-236070 Share on other sites
February 2, 200817 yr comment_236104 Whatever you end up doing (old pictures, scrap books, ads, etc.) it all comes down to one thing, taste. I've seen tacky and I've seen what could be called by some as art. What is too much or how it is arranged, is there a theme, does it match both the car and the intented audience, does it make people want to stop and get to know more about you and your Z?A good place to start would be find someone with a sense of design who could work with you to build something more than a collection of this and that. But once you build it be very aware that someone will attempt to steal it.
