Posted June 8, 200717 yr comment_211641 Keep an eye out for your younger drivers:Taken from : http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070606/od_nm/dutch_drink_odd_dc;_ylt=Aoc6G1yTb1L7TjbrjHMBqkbtiBIFAMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Dutch students have developed powdered alcohol which they say can be sold legally to minors.ADVERTISEMENTThe latest innovation in inebriation, called Booz2Go, is available in 20-gramme packets that cost 1-1.5 euros ($1.35-$2).Top it up with water and you have a bubbly, lime-colored and -flavored drink with just 3 percent alcohol content."We are aiming for the youth market. They are really more into it because you can compare it with Bacardi-mixed drinks," 20-year-old Harm van Elderen told Reuters.Van Elderen and four classmates at Helicon Vocational Institute, about an hour's drive from Amsterdam, came up with the idea as part of their final-year project."Because the alcohol is not in liquid form, we can sell it to people below 16," said project member Martyn van Nierop. The legal age for drinking alcohol and smoking is 16 in the Netherlands. In Germany, alcopops -- sweet drinks containing alcohol and in powder form -- caused quite a stir when launched on to the market. Alcohol powder, classified as a flavoring, was sold in the United States three years ago.The students said companies interested in making the product commercially could avoid taxes because the alcohol was in powder form. A number of companies are interested, they said. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24532-powdered-alcohol/ Share on other sites

June 8, 200717 yr comment_211715 Crap, they don't have to buy anything. Those that want to drink will sneak it from their parents liquor cabinet or from their friends parents. I hear the horror stories from my wife who works with troubled kids. June 8, 200717 yr Author comment_211722 Yes, you are correct. My wife comes home sad often after working with severely emotionally disturbed children. She wants to bring home one in particular because the mom's always strung out. June 9, 200717 yr comment_211766 Well, ... Maybe I was a bit too quick to say it was bullshit. After all, who would have thought the story about oysters being fed on Viagra to increase their potency was true ????.I would've thought the story was crap, but the bloke was interviewed on the T.V. News and the Government has said that it will NOT be permitted to be sold in The Land of Oz.Rick.:devious: :devious: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24532-powdered-alcohol/#findComment-211766 Share on other sites
