My old 75 280Z had one. They will leak eventually. Datsun didn't supply anything like a sunroof until the 280ZX which had t-tops. June 16, 200717 yr Author comment_212364 Yes, exatly. They look funny but they are still so cool. I like them because I've never seen them before. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24616-split-sunroofs/#findComment-212364 Share on other sites
June 16, 200717 yr comment_212370 That picture is the roof of my red 240Z. The labels inside mine say "SportTtop". I wish mine didn't have it, but c'est la vie. As these things go, this one appears to be better quality than most. I know that would be a whole lot of work and risky, but if it bugs you enough, maybe it's something to look into? June 17, 200717 yr comment_212523 Most body men won't try to piece the roof back together. But they can weld on a complete roof off a donor car. I won't rule that out, but it's not too likely unless I start having leakage issues. June 17, 200717 yr comment_212538 I have a set just like them. Had them installed in 1980 and they have yet to see a drop of rain, rubber is still soft and seals tight. I regret putting them in now, but a roof is out of the question although I have really thought about it.Bonzi Lon Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24616-split-sunroofs/#findComment-212538 Share on other sites
June 22, 200717 yr comment_212997 I saw a few 240z years ago with metal "crank back" tops that appeared to be factory. I was a kid but I remember clearly that the sun roofs where metal. Does anyone know if there were a few Z cars with factory roofs?
