Posted June 17, 200717 yr comment_212539 Hi everybody! I am Tilman from germany (actually from the city where the brabus company is located) and stumbled over this site while I was searching about 240Z. At the moment I am trying to sell my 1999 GC8 WRX to get my hands on a nice 240Z. I havent driven one yet but the timeless design just hit me. I need to get one. My plan is to change the brute power of the WRX for some style of a vintage sports car. I just briefly searched through al the infos inside the forum but that only brought up more questions. I am only used to rise the boost and be happy with the kick in the back you get from it. I am totaly new NA engines, especially engines with carburators. Thats the momentary ride: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24635-hello-from-germany-brabus-city/ Share on other sites
June 17, 200717 yr comment_212545 Welcome to the forum. Keep searching, you'll find more info than you know what to do with. For an overview of the history of the 240Z, go here. Based on your location, it may be easier/cheaper to locate a good 260Z. Same body and engine design but 2.6L vs 2.4L as well as some other small improvements and add'l features. If you're all about driving and enjoying the car the experience is much the same for the 240 260, & 280Z. Each a little more refined and a little heavier as a result. The 240Z is the true no frills sports car. Good luck in your search. June 17, 200717 yr comment_212554 Hello From Germany, welcome to the club. There is a very nice small 240z scene here in Germany. In September you will see some of them on the japan classisc in essen (wybi.com). When you need some 2. opinions about buying a z car we can help you. I live near Venlo on the dutch border and a friend is living in Marl.CheersRainer Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24635-hello-from-germany-brabus-city/#findComment-212554 Share on other sites

If you are used to Fuel Injection and Turbo's - then just get an L28ET from the 280ZX Turbo - and drop it in your 240-Z. Then you'd have that kick in the back, along with the Classic lines.FWIW,Carl B. June 19, 200717 yr comment_212683 Welcome aboard Tilman and welcome to the world of Z. Hope you find a Z soon! I've been to Germany a couple of times over the last couple of decades and would love to be able to drive my 240 on your wonderful roads.....I'm jealous! My first visit to Germany was to Hamburg......hmmmmmmm, the Reaperbon (likely misspelled). My second visit was to Miesau, doing work at an ordinance center not to far from Ramstien Air Force Base. Anyway, happy hunting!Tom Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24635-hello-from-germany-brabus-city/#findComment-212683 Share on other sites

Viel Spaß und Erfolg bei der SucheRolf Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24635-hello-from-germany-brabus-city/#findComment-212756 Share on other sites

Actually Z's are offered quite rarely and are expensive in good condition, also because there are hardly parts here. The partial import from the USA is not the cheapest! The hardest hammer the "Rallyeamateur" drives here to Klaus Fritzinger (see under Google after), is beautiful also in Holland of the Rallyenachbau of z-POINT and also the cars of Germanz and germanzfan is super. If Du's means serious, then schau you for a good basis in the USA over, possibly here still in Switzerland. Much fun and success with the search" Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24635-hello-from-germany-brabus-city/#findComment-212757 Share on other sites
