Posted June 17, 200717 yr comment_212560 All,I have two "ivory" wires going to the water housing. Where do they plug into? The one Red wire is on the temp sensor and there is a black wire also that is not connected? The two ivory wires the PO cut off and I need to figure out where they hook.Anyone know where these go?Thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24636-water-thermostat-housing-and-ivory-wires/ Share on other sites
June 17, 200717 yr comment_212561 A good start would be telling us what year your car is, as well as whether it has the original engine or a later year model. I see in your profile that you have both a 76 and a 78. In this case, I'm not sure it makes a difference but making that clear in you posts or adding it to your signature will save some time and get you better answers in the future. Here's a link to some wiring diagrams Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24636-water-thermostat-housing-and-ivory-wires/#findComment-212561 Share on other sites
June 17, 200717 yr comment_212565 Sometimes with wiring issues it also helps to know if the car started life as an automatic, as well. June 17, 200717 yr Author comment_212568 Sorry, its a 5 speed, 76 with original engine. I looked at some old pics and saw that one of the ivory colored wires goes to the water temp switch. These wires are all part of the same bundle and go to a 3 connection connector that contains a red wire and 2 ivory wires, looks to be "C14" on the 76 wiring diag. Just need to know which ivory wires goes where since they are very close in color if not the same. Thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24636-water-thermostat-housing-and-ivory-wires/#findComment-212568 Share on other sites
