What's the longest trip you've made in your Z?

About 400 miles round trip is the max so far for me, but I've only had a road worth example for about 8 months.

Say, does 2500 miles in a '74 B210 count? Done that!! (In 1977.)

I suppose. I drove a 74 b210 from denver to indiana and back with the same amount of miles. On the way back from st. louis to the middle of the kansas turnpkie on I-70 was white out conditions. Not to mention the semi's blasting right past me. It was good experience for a 16 yr old.

I drove my 75 280Z from San Francisco, CA to San Angelo, TX stopping only to gas up, eat and use the bathroom. Non stop 1597 miles. Did it in 20 hours and in the middle of winter and no heater. I had to use a towel layed accross my lap and the shift lever that was left open to get the heat from the engine. Enjoyed every second of it.

Did the usual bought a 240 in AZ thing and drove it home in 3 days (3,001 miles) back in 1999.

Last month coming back from the Tail of the Dragon weekend, I did 1,100 miles in 16 hrs (should have been under 14 but I got caught in bad traffic).

Blew every piston it seems. Engine being rebuilt, diff carrier bearing went as well so it's been rebuilt and 280 rear stub axles going in w/CVs before I drive it again. Roostmonkey did it in 16 hrs too and he was hauling his '70 behind his pick-up.

Florida ZCCA convention coming up in October, so that'll be another 1200 miles one-way (mapquest says 20 hrs, last time I did it was back in '75 in my almost new 260, it took me 15 hrs.).

That B210 was my wife's car that she bought right out of high school. My most exciting time in it was after I installed the Marchal H4 headlights in it, driving at 70+ MPH on Hwy 97 between Chemult and Klamath Falls when the headlight fuse blew. In those days, night time there was very little traffic on 97, I had no idea it could get that dark that fast!

Last May 16th, 2006 at the age of 73 I drove the 1972 Silver Bullet 240Z from Nashua New Hampshire to Fontana Village (Tail of the Dragon-NC&Tenn) then down thru Birmingham, Mountgonery, Mobile Ala thru New Orleans to Housten Texas. Then up to Dallas, Inving and Ft Worth. Back to Housten . Then back to Nashua New Hampshire arriveing afternoon of June 8th, 2006.

The roundtrip covered 5,256 miles and included 4 days running the Tail of the Dragon (318 curves in 11 miles). a week at the Nissan/Datsun Convention in Dallas/Ft Worth (Car was awarded 1st in Nissan Modified Class at the convention-3 points short of the Gold Cup award). Car ran great , every thing working properly. Averaged 550 to 650 miles a day at Interstate Hwy speed (could not have done it without the comfortable Recaro seats). I averaged close to 30 mpg (5 speed overdrive transmission with a 3.3 rear).

Used a half quart of oil for the 2,600 miles down to Texas and changet oil and filter when I got home. Great trip, and I would do it again.

4,000 miles roundtrip from Los Angeles to New Orleans and back. Done in 2003 in my 280Z.
