Recommended Posts

About a month ago i noticed some undercoating laying in my driveway, its been gettin worse ever since, im trying to post some thumbnail pics but i dont get the option "manage attachments" under additional options when posting a new thread, ive checked around on forums search for some info, mostly deal with large amounts of rust, i just need a minor prevention cure to fix this problem i believe.Any comments would be appriciated till i can get images to upload. Working on that now

I would suggest peeling as much of the loose stuff off as you can, cleaning the bare areas (check for rust while you are at it-fix if needed), and apply an undercoating that you trust (I've no suggestions for what kind).

Also, try to figure out what is causing the undercoating to come off. I had a hole develop in undercoating of one of my wheel wells (probably from a rock) and moisture was collecting in there, causing the coating to lose adhesion from the metal. By the time I discovered it, surface rust was already forming through the factory primer...

Perhaps you have a similar cause, or perhaps this is an indication of a more serious problem.

As to the problem uploading photos, I have the same problem.
