Hi Guys,

I've got some tripple Dellorto DHLA carbs coming soon for my L28. I am looking for a suitable manifold and believe the SK tripple inlet manifold to be OK. Does anybody have experience with this manifold?

The biggest concern is finding a linkage kit for tripples using this manifold, is there a universal linkage kit to fit the SK manifold?

We have a local brand called Redline but I've heard a couple of negative reports on thier linkage kit.

I don't think SK ( Sanyo Kiki ) have made any L6 inlet manifolds for many years now - unless you know different?

Bear in mind that some of the inlet manifolds on the market were originally aimed at LHD configurations, and are therefore different in shape to those aimed at RHD configurations. Some of the LHD-biased designs were aimed at avoiding interference with tubular exhaust manifolds that were themselves avoiding the steering linkages on LHD cars.

The Nissan L6 was fitted to so many different cars over such a long period of time that it makes used inlet manifold buying a bit of a minefield if you include those produced for the Japanese market. Companies such as SK, Hayashi, HKS, Mikuni and many other used to produce different inlet manifolds and linkage kits to suit different generations of Z, let alone Skylines, Laurels and other models of Nissans with L-gata engines.

Personally, I think the manifold and linkage kits still produced by Harada and Tomei would be best for your RHD car. The Harada in particular has a nice linkage kit included in it which can be set up using the original rod actuation or a cable actuation ( with the parts supplied ). I have a Harada on my ZG, and have sourced and imported them for numerous users here in the UK and Europe - all without complaint.

I would have thought there would be plenty of importers in Australia who would source a Harada or Tomei manifold from Japan for you? Worth asking, anyway.

The linkage kits for the SK manifold are tough to come by. I have the SK sports kit manifold. The regular linkage arms do not fit as they are to small in diameter. If you by one of these manifolds, make sure you get all the arms. I bought a kit from a guy on E-bay for triple Dell's and it does not work. At this time, I am going to have to make my own arms.

You should be able to change out the main rail to fit the arms that you have. I'm not familiar with the SK setup, but my Cannon had a small rail which is maybe 5/16" diameter or something like that, and the weber arms were just kind of crappy in general. I didn't like the way the arm attached to the rail and many of the original rod ends were rusted solid.

I used a 10mm Mikuni rail by getting a piece of angle aluminum and drilling holes to fit the teflon bushings that come on the Mikuni rail. Then I just bolted the angle aluminum "towers" to the manifold. That worked, but it allowed the rail to flex a bit in the middle (this should also be a problem for anyone running a Mikuni manifold because they're supported the same way with a bushing on each end). Next step was to get some 10mm rod ends, which I have done, and I'm going to drill and tap the manifold which I think currently has smaller SAE bolts, and screw the rod ends directly into the manifold to hold the 10mm rail and I'm hoping that should be the last time I have to mess with that...

I have a SK manifold also and also looking for a good linkage setup for my 44PHH's. I'm after a cable actutated one.

The SK manifold uses a 3/8 or 10mm rod, the towers are cast

as part of the manifold. These things are rare to find so cutting them up to mickey a fix would be a big no. Sanyo knew what they were doing when they made them, so what ever it takes to piece together or copy is in my plans. The Mikuni manifold is the same thing as the SK. I know I'm running Dell's on this one, but if I find a set of SK's or Mik's I will grab them if I have the cash. If I can't find them, well the Dell's were good enough for Big Sam, so enough said there.

Thanks Guys for some reason the "reply to post" function has just alerted me to the responses to the thread, not sure why that is. Good to get some warning on the SK manifold. I've since bought a universal Lynx linkage kit so to play it safe I think I'll just buy the local Redline manifold.
