Wow, a hell of a ride for me. My brain hurts! It looks like I stumbled on a PHP bug that existed in 5.0.3. Every time I tried to change PHP values in /etc/php.ini, they would NEVER stick. After upgrading to PHP 5.0.4, any change takes place immediately (after a httpd restart, anyway).

So, all of the issues we've had over the past few weeks were totally related to a server bug that I just happened to stumble on randomly.

Upgraded a bunch of core system files and now this issue is resolved.

Awesome, glad you figured it out. Isn't it a relief to finally figure something out that you racked your brain over...One of the reasons I both love and hate linux...definitely love it more than Winblows though....LOL

LOL I was trained to provide Windows support, but despise it. I migrated to doing Unix/Linux work to retain my sanity, and use Macs both at home and as my work laptop. About all I need Windows for these days is Visio. Wish there was an open source alternative...
Don't see why one would have to change options in the thread box when the option to quote appears without selection of threaded mode.

Because the option doesn't become available without being in threaded mode. Reason being if you're in linear there's more than one post being displayed at a time therefore making it difficult to quote a single post even if the one you want is the last one in the list.

Unfortunately my company uses ActiveX and Siebel services for our database and field management so I'm stuck with Winblows until we can come up with a more suitable ActiveX clone for Linux. I'm not impressed with the new Macs. I much prefer the old PPC processors. Why they switched to Intel architecture I'll never understand.

Just click the "quote" button at the bottom of the message you want to reply. You'll have the ability to quote the user and clean up the message. :smoke:
