Posted June 27, 200717 yr comment_213487 Yes after 22 years im selling my 1973 240 Zed. In 2000 I striped it back to a bare metal shell and started a 2 year rebuild, using many new and rebuilt parts. One of the states best panel tradesmen spent 350 hours on the body and paint; this is one of the straightest Zeds you will ever find. I then spent over 18 months developing and installing the engine, driveline, suspension and brake systems. The programmable engine management system which comes with a laptop computer, security device and manuals, makes this car behave and drive like any new car. At the last National Concourse in Phillip Island this car ran a credible 2:03.65 for my first time at the circuit, and regularly runs in the low 1:13s at Wakefield Park.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />This car carries a full engineering certificate issued in NSW. See photos. http://picasaweb.google.com/RB30ZED Engine:RB30 with RB25DE VVT ported head.ARP head studs and big end bolts. New 0.5mm OS factory pistons give 10.7:1 compression. Tomei cams fitted. New RB25DET oil pump running on modified wide drive crank.6.5ltr trap door sump. Custom oil returns. All oil galleries in the block crank and head threaded with screw in plugs.Kalmaker engine management.Custom exhaust with long secondary pipes to large resonators. Drive line:Skyline RB20DET double syncro box rebuilt with upgraded bearings.Custom tail shaft with larger uni’s.R180 viscous limited slip diff (3.7:1)New front and rear wheel bearings. Brakes:Dual master cylinders with Tilton balance bar.296mm front and 300mm rear discFerado DS2500 pads. Suspension:Koni top adjustable inserts in shortened struts All ball joints new.King’s prosport springs 3 sets, 325, 300, and 275# Adjustable spring platforms.Rose joint front control arms.Well balanced F & R sway bars.Adjustable rear end.Under chassis brace. Wheels and tyres:Genuine 16X7 PannasportsToyo RA1 225X50X16 Electrical: Rewired, main harnesses and fitter relays for H4 headlights, VVT engine management and starter systems.Hidden engine harness.Rebuilt alternator.Indicators moved to park lights and park lights in head lights. Body:350 hour spent on body and paint.Zero rust.Fish oiled regularlyDiablo RedOriginal front panels painted and stored to replace front spoiler.New badges for bonnet and rear quarters.New inner and outer kick platesNew door rubbersNew glass channelsNew front and rear windscreen rubbersNew windscreen Interior:Re-skinned dash.New carpetsWRX seatsOriginal and 4 point harnesses.Custom rear strut brace connects side panels to strut tops, and mounts harnesses.G-tec meter Spares:Original seatsOriginal front indicatorsOriginal engine block with matching engine number.Original steering wheelDiffF & R brakesFactory 260Z mag wheels Price: $ 28000 Aust.Contact: Steven Davis rb30_zed@hotmail.com Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24728-its-time-to-go-rb30-zed/ Share on other sites
