Mike,

As someone who generally accesses the site using the "get new since last visit" search link, The recent Racing Feeds addition is not a good thing. With all the new feeds each being shown as a new thread, any of the 'new' or 'recent' searches are effectively worthless. Or will be if today's batch is any indication of normalcy. The 'new since last visit' or 'past 24/48 hours' searches are so plugged with non-Z racing press releases (many of them commercial in nature) that it's difficult to find the Z content.

As an example, get new since I last visited (3:45 today) gives three pages of posts, with only 6 having to do with Zs.

Please consider either deleting these feeds, or maybe you can exclude them from the searches?

How do you do this Arnie, I don't see an option for it?

If I properly understand your question it's just a matter of clicking "New Posts" which shows you only posts since your last visit. That's what I use for my browser bookmark and include the proper URL here for your convenience:

Yup, that's the link I have bookmarked too. I seldom ever look at the site's front page.

My guess is that this was a one-time mass feed while getting this new feature set up. All of the posts occurred within 3 minutes of each other. If in the future there are two or three such posts per day I don't see how anyone would mind.

What I would really like to see is the ability to filter by group. For instance, I don't have any particular interest in the 240K forum, racing, or some of the regional stuff. It would be nice if there was an ability to specific only those areas of interest such that clicking on "new posts" would only show me those areas.

Yeah, I suspect you may be right about the future frequency. Maybe we should give it a day or two and see what happens.

And yes, I'd REALLY like to be able to filter out the forums that I don't have any interest in.

Ah, yes, I didn't think of this. The RSS newsfeeds are something I'm playing around with. They are useful, but, really bunch up the "get new" commands.

I fixed it so now you won't see the RSS newsfeeds when you perform a get new command. :)
