July 2, 200717 yr comment_213893 I really don't know if i like the little lip spoilers all that much. I do plan on getting one of the full MSA airdams with the break cooler ducts in it for my car when it comes time to get painted. July 2, 200717 yr comment_213895 I guess I like the look of the metal valence, not so much the air-dam look. The valences with the spoilers look okay I suppose, I'm not in love with them though. July 2, 200717 yr comment_213915 In my opinion, a small lip spoiler (like the BRE Spook) is great on a 240Z, much better looking than an air dam or valance replacement. But on a 280Z, the front bumper would completely overwhelm a small spoiler. For these cars, a bigger air dam is the way to go. July 2, 200717 yr comment_213917 I am partial to the look of the BRE spoiler as well on the 240. It looks much more period correct to me. Sometimes less is better...imo Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24761-which-lip-spoiler-do-you-think-looks-the-best/#findComment-213917 Share on other sites
July 2, 200717 yr comment_213921 And the good part about the BRE (spook) spoiler.......it actually works! On my front spoiler I added two vertical supports, from the spoiler to body, for additional stiffness. It does seem to help a bit more.....just feels more stable.Tom Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24761-which-lip-spoiler-do-you-think-looks-the-best/#findComment-213921 Share on other sites
July 2, 200717 yr comment_213923 There's a lot to be said about functionality and a timeless design such as the BRE spook. It is my preference but I don't dislike the modern designs. July 2, 200717 yr comment_213924 I really like the look of the "British" spoiler on the front of a 240-Z. I don't know if any of our members have one. You see them on cars in England and Europe. They are very small, much smaller the the spook, like maybe three or four inches deep. They don't interfere with the original lines of the car much. July 2, 200717 yr comment_213929 I prefer the BRE style it looks "correct" and not all tuner looking like some of them Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24761-which-lip-spoiler-do-you-think-looks-the-best/#findComment-213929 Share on other sites
July 2, 200717 yr comment_213930 BRE and the basic MSA airdams are my preference; in that order Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24761-which-lip-spoiler-do-you-think-looks-the-best/#findComment-213930 Share on other sites
July 3, 200717 yr comment_213989 ...But on a 280Z, the front bumper would completely overwhelm a small spoiler. For these cars, a bigger air dam is the way to go.That is unless one plans to ditch the bigger bumpers. Federal Schmederal, I'm gonna remove mine one of these days. July 3, 200717 yr comment_213996 I agree with Deadflo. The european Zs had that small front lip and a rear spoiler. You can see that on my yellow Z in my gallery.
