Any Racers recognize this 240-Z?

Actually, that is Bruce Frederick's car that I used to race against. It was always nicely prepared and had no problems that I can recall. It had a chrome-molly cage if I remember right. I offered to buy it at one time but it had already been sold.

I'm surprised to see this post come up today! How about a quick update?

I got both my SCCA license and my Vintage license this year. Raced in RMDIV at La Junta, Sandia, and Pueblo. No issues with the car, ran like a champ all year. I reallly lucked out finding this car, and had a GREAT year with big plans for 2009. Here's a few pics from 2008:

And here's a great shot of me and a 510...Robert

Red Eye,

That is Bruce Frederick's car which we put together at Dando's back in hte day. It does have a chromemoly cage.We put it together so it would be the lightest i.t. chassis you could build.Bruce ran the car in regional events and it was wrecked once and was back halved by California Collision (excellent job, Bob Carter) and put back together with probably a stoger chassis. If you have any questions give me a e-mail @ andydando@sbcglobal.net

Andydando,

Thanks for sharing some more history of the car. You'd never know that it has been back-halved (I assume that means the back 1/2 of the car has been replaced???) It did come with a bunch of spare parts, doors, hatch, cowl, rear ends, etc, etc, etc. Maybe from the doner car?

I'll have to contact Dando's because the front air dam is getting pretty torn up. That's on my winter to-do list.

I removed the Dando graphics from the car, cause I didn't know what they were for, but I'd put one back on, if you have any?

If you have any old notes or documentation from building this car, I'd love to get copies. You can reach me at: r.long2@comcast.net

Hey guys, If you find any info about my car, I would appreciate a shout.

It was raced in the same places as yours Red-Eye and I actually have a photo of it from '93. (see below) It is car #66 and it had a checkerboard green/black paint scheme.

IF anyone knows how to get in touch with Michael Scott, I would like to talk with him about the car since it is still being raced but in Sediv instead of the west coast.

Thanks,

RX Sleeper,

That was another car which had Dando's help in being assembled.Mike Scotts orignial car was totaled and Mike bought that car through Ricky Hines(old time famous S.F. area autocrosser).Mike tore down his old car and took the good parts off and we constructed the new car for him. That paint job was done because Mike wanted to be different. It was dayglow yellow with black checkers of shelf paper. We got about half way through applying the checkers and Mike wondered what he got himself into.I mentioned that if he wrecked he would have to duplicate the checker pattern again(uugg!).Most parts on the car are of Dando's origin, that why he ran the stickers( i helped a little by giving him good deals on stuff).Mike stopped racing i think due to work and i lost track of him.The car always ran goos and i think he even won a race back in the day.Winning a race then was an accomplishment because we would have over 20 Z's racing in I.T.S..If you want more info you can e mail me andydando@sbcglobal.net
