Posted July 18, 200717 yr comment_215505 So yesterday I was with my wife in Gent, Belgium for a large 10 day long (day 4) festival to enjoy the evening and get some dinner when we saw a market. As we walked around a red, white and blue car caught my eye. It was a 240z BRE racer with John Morton's name on the side of it. It was failry large, about 10 inches, but the dealer wanted 22.50 euros (about 30USD) and it was to much for me. Plus it wasn't in the best of shape. But I did snap a photo so I could share the car with the everyone. I hope it wasn't a very rare car, but I am sure people here know more than I about these things. July 18, 200717 yr comment_215512 I bet if your patient you will find one on e-bay. Once in a while I'll see Z toys like this one. Also, I doubt the auction would go past $30. Cool toy though. I collect Z toys one in a while myself. July 18, 200717 yr Author comment_215519 I see these around, ebay is a good source...but why have the toy when you can have the real thing!?That is the exact reason I didn't get it! 22.50 euros to the real thing and not a toy is a better value in my book. I don't really collect these, just saw it and thought it was cool ... it was practically the first thing we saw at the market. Now if I can just get the Belgian government to work a little faster with my paperwork so I can register my car and drive it I'll be a lot happier! One thing I did see, was that the toy had what appears to be a 'G nose' front end. Did the BRE race cars ever have that added or were they just the normal front ends for the S30 body in North America? Wondered bout that myself, thanks for solving the question Ron. Coolest thing I saw on there was the Yellow Chequered Flag on the rear fender wonder if they make that full scale? July 19, 200717 yr comment_215568 That looks exactly like the toy Z I bought in an antique store last year but without the BRE graphics. It cost me $12.00 and is also pretty beat up. I don't know much about it's history but I do know that Tonka made them so it's not really die cast. I have never seen them before and for that reason I would have bought the BRE version if I had the chance. Here are some pictures of mine. I wish I could go more but I have to much work to do this week. HEY I used to have one of those when I was a kid but it was of the Dukes of Hazzred General Lee Dodge Charger It was pretty Sic and had some kind of motorized feature but never worked so the wheels locked and had to press down on the carpet to get the wheels to turn making clicking sounds. Same desing style as these Z's with the cartoon look. Mayber theres other cars out there... like Knight Rider's Kitt or Karr  Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/24933-found-a-bre-z-die-cast-car-with-photo/#findComment-215605 Share on other sites
