Posted August 4, 200222 yr comment_11922 Just got back from Gateway today - SCCA Regional racing. 102 degrees in the shade - only two Z cars today. 280 ITS and 1970 240 EP car - kind of what mine is going to be like (except I'll be faster :classic:) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2494-zs-at-gateway/ Share on other sites
August 4, 200222 yr Author comment_11923 Had to get some shots of these two GT-2 6 Cylinders Jags - full tube frame with fiberglass bodies - the red one has a solid rear axle, the black one was independent. Super fast and awesome sounding! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2494-zs-at-gateway/#findComment-11923 Share on other sites
August 6, 200222 yr comment_12123 Hey Rick. Whats the compression allowed in EP? I have been arguing with a buddy of mine (325IS). His is 10:1, and I have read that Z's are allowed 12:1. That info is rather old (mine), so I was just wondering.Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2494-zs-at-gateway/#findComment-12123 Share on other sites
August 6, 200222 yr Author comment_12134 According to the GCR:Comp Ratio limited to 12.0:1. Cylinder head prep per I.T. specificiations except that the head may be milled to achieve max compression ratio (I.e. no porting, stock valve job, no chamber mods). Valve Life: .500" max. It can also be milled to utilize O-rings to replace or supplement a cylinder head gasket. You can change the cam, rocker arms, valves (must be stock diameter), guides, seats and springs. The bottom end can use a cylinder block from any model from the same manufacturer which is dimensionally identical. Can also have a billet crank, Corillo (or any type) rods, aftermarket pistons 1.2mm larger, aftermarket flywheel (same diameter - but can be lightened), any clutch assembly except carbon. Can use any oil pump including a dry sump. Also can use any type of windage tray and/or accusump. You can also remove the disty and change to a crank fire system.Someone gets a beer on this one... I'll buy the first round! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2494-zs-at-gateway/#findComment-12134 Share on other sites
