Welp...After useing the Factory Manual and the EFI "Bible"...It appears that I have blown part of the ECU (electronic control unit). In my neck of the woods, I can't find any junk yard Z's to get one. Does any body out there have a spare or know where I can possibly order one from???

Thanks for all of your help prior...

Chris

Chris, make sure that you use an ECU from a 78 or earlier. You can use any of the ones from up to 7/78. Don't use any of the ones from a ZX (8/78 up). Those will even have a warning on the label not to use them on vehicles prior to 79 if they still have the original label. And don't use one from an 810 or RWD Maxima.

Chris,

The part number for the ECU that I have is A11-000 000

Lot # 5510

I don't see any worning labels but that doesn't mean that one was not removed. You might be able to look this up and see if it will work for you.

If you car is not fuel injected then you may not want to take that chance.

That one will work. That's a pre-79 unit. Those ECU's were only used on EFI cars. I'm assuming that he has not removed the EFI. I'm just kind of curious as to how you (Chris'sZ) arrived at the conclusion that the problem is in the ECU. Did you test it as outlined in the FSM?
