My transmission was making a loud whirring sound that only got louder as the RPM's got higher. I took out my transmission and took it to the transmission specialist, it had a bad bearing inside near the front of the transmission. Rather than just replacing the bad bearing I decided on getting the whole thing rebuilt.

I got the rebuilt transmission back yesterday, put it in and the sound is gone. It feels and sounds much better.

My dad in-law took my transmission down to his buddys shop down the street. This friend of his works on automatics, since he couldn't rebuild it himself he took it to his friends(I know confusing). In the end my transmission ended up in Compton, CA. Good thing I didn't have to go there:) The work was done very fast and painless. I took it saturday afternoon, and I had it back on monday morning.

Anyways the place that did the rebuilding was,

CRUZ & CRUZ

820 S. Washington Ave.

Compton, CA 90221

The number is (562)824-1118

I hope that helps,

Albert

I've refreshed a couple of 5 speeds myself and presently have one I'm working on for the 810. They're really not that difficult to work on. I just follow the FSM and the transmission tech tips from Atlantic Z. Both of the one's I've done in the past are running smooth and quiet, no leaks, etc. I'm hoping to have the same luck with the one I'm working on now.
