ta240 Posted July 24, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 24, 2007 Any other sources for nice looking carpet mats? I almost bought a set from MSA but the logos actually seem like a bit much to me, I'd prefer a bit more subtle but don't really want the complete plain ones.-Trevor
e_racer1999 Posted July 24, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 24, 2007 i don't think that you'll have much luck, but have you checked the dealers? i know the places that make the dash covers also do floor mats as well. and if you have a swap meet locally..... ta240 Posted July 24, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted July 24, 2007 maybe something like these:http://www.autosportcatalog.com/index.cfm?fa=p&pid=1410&cid=45with 240Z for the monogram...for some reason these look a bit retro to me (which is good):http://www.autosportcatalog.com/index.cfm?fa=p&pid=1304&cid=45bummer, I just noticed this line "cannot designate a vehicle manufacturer's name, make or model. " We'll back to the drawingboard.

bobs77 Posted July 25, 2007 Share #5 Posted July 25, 2007 I've been thinking about coco mats for mine. I made the mistake of buying the 280Z logo mats from MSA--very cheap. The foam backing doesn't grip the carpet at all so the left mat occasionally slides under the gas pedal causing it to stick open. They also develop a permanent bend to match the tranny tunnel curve, which isn't bad until they slide away from the tunnel, leaving a gap.
ta240 Posted July 25, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted July 25, 2007 I've pretty much settled on the Coco mats. Now I just have to pick the color. Probably just all black but with a dark orange car I thought maybe red. Or a mellower black and gray. I requested a sample so we'll see when it gets here.-Trevor
geoyam Posted July 26, 2007 Share #7 Posted July 26, 2007 Try looking at RoadWorksAuto.com. They have their "Designer Mats" in 32oz nylon, nibbed backing and serged edging listed under the plush floor mats that are a good match to the OEM carpeting. I bought a set for my 280z. They were very pricey, over $100 dollars. But very good/heavy duty quality. I shouldn't have to buy another set again.
TomoHawk Posted September 10, 2007 Share #8 Posted September 10, 2007 I bought a large (industrial) floor mat ( 4x6, IIRC) from the DIY place. It is rubber with carpet on top. I cut it up to put under the seats, in the back, and for floor mats. I used carboard/posterboard to make a pattern, and I made metal tabs of aluminum that were rivetted to the forward edge, and the kickpanel screws go through a hole to keep the floor mats in place.thxZ
