I miss my Z!!!

I just moved 1000 miles from Reno to Colorado

from all my friends

my tools

everything.

& the only thing I miss is my Z car. haha

really, growing up around Zs & 510s spoiled me.

they're so easy to work on

pretty, fun & stuff.

having spent the last god knows how many days working on my porsche, climbing in through the -tiny- bonnet, dropping spark plugs into the engine tin

& putting up with ceramic fuses

I'm about to take a hammer to the thing.

plus its hard not to talk $hit on the 914 boards haha LOL

I just thought I'd share, venting is nice.:stupid:

well I'm only going to be here til December

so theres no use having a bunch of stuff shipped up...

I'm the same way, I love the little quirks the Z has

& the fact that half the time when something goes wrong it'll fix itself haha

if you're in a bad situation you just pat her dashboard & say

"please?"

the porsche is nice cuz its a freakin go-kart with windows

the thing HANDLES

but it doesn't have the soul. its like its working against me sometimes.

that & I'm really weary of air-cooled motors

so when I get back to reno its getting a toyota 4AGE. ROFL

I have a buddy with a 1988 Porsche 944. Expensive to work on, and needs to always buy weird tools for it. Its nice, but I like my Z way better. I think that it is also a bit faster due to it being some 400lbs lighter and only having some 15hp less.

Hell, at least you are closer. I am 2,600 miles away from my Z car. I get to go see it in September and hopefully drive it back home.

Seems like if it is in good condition, you could get some good money for it. Just sell it and get anther Z car. :P: devious: LOL

A fraternity brother of mine in the early 80's used to remind the rest of us that it wasn't "Por-SH" but rather "Pour-Shah". He and his girlfriend used to literally hold their noses up and bring the "pour-SHAH" into the conversation at least once or twice an hour, literally snubbing the rest of us with more mundane vehicles.

Then, for some undisclosed reason (although we surmised that his girlfriend had kicked it when fooling around), the ignition key broke IN the ignition such that the remnant piece could neither be removed with a pair of tweezers, nor would it fallout when the lock was removed and tapped from behind. To add to the problem, there wasn't another key to make a copy from.

The fix? Replace the whole ignition lock.

After taking the 914 to a Foreign Car Specialist and being informed that the replacement lock would be more than $230, our fraternity brother insisted that an alternate solution be found. The repair shop told him that they could get a different style of lock for only $79. He told them to go ahead and didn't care to listen to any details.

When he was taken to pick up his car and after settling the bill he was handed a key with a VW logo.

He handed it back and stated that his car was a "Pour-Shah" and not a "Bug". The technician told him that although it carried a "PORCH" label, his car was mostly a VW, per our other brother's (the one had driven) recollection of the event.

From then on whenever we wanted to rile our snobbish brother and his girlfriend (to pay them back for years of snobbery), we would refer to his car as the "Volk-SHAH"!

True story.

hahahaROFL

the Porsche elitists are way too fun to mess around with...

there are VW & Audi symbols on just about every part on that car

even on the windows. your friend must have just chosen to -ignore- that small fact haha

the thing is really in great condition I could get a good amount for it, but its a solid car for a 4AGE swap so I might keep it around.

if I do end up selling it, the proceeds are going toward funding my pikes peak expedition next year! I've decided to run my Banshee up the hill!:devious:
