barth4567 Posted July 29, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 29, 2007 I have a two part question, and am looking for some advice and opinions. My 72 has a orange 110 exterior, white interior, with black carpets. I am going to replace the carpet soon with a new carpet kit from MSA. I have seen the kit that covers the wheel wells and shock towers.and am leaning toward putting that particular one in my car. My car is a nice daily driver and the white on the shock towers and wheel wells could be in better condition. So this is my dilemma.A. Would you guys cover the white with the black carpet kit if it was your car?B. How does it attach to the towers and and wheel wells? Glue on or Velcro? If it was put on with velcro I could live with that. I just do not want to devalue my car. I have not seen many white interior cars around. Am I incorrect about this? This is such a good site for advice and opinons I thought I would throw this out and see what some of you Z guys thought.I know it is my car and all but any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. John owner of a " Slightly" modified 1972.
MikeW Posted July 29, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 29, 2007 My car is a nice daily driver and the white on the shock towers and wheel wells could be in better condition. Is it damaged or just dirty/stained? You might be able to improve the appearance of the original vinyl considerably with SEM vinyl dye.
barth4567 Posted July 29, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted July 29, 2007 Actually it is not really damaged as it is almost 35 years old and stained a little here and there. Just looks a little rough. You know how white is it shows everything.
MikeW Posted July 29, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 29, 2007 In that case you can probably make it look as good as new quite easily.

MikeW Posted July 29, 2007 Share #6 Posted July 29, 2007 I got mine at the local auto paint shop along with the appropriate prep products: SEM soap and SEM vinyl prep. You can also order it online; here's one place:http://www.autostyles.com/sem.htm
