Radiator Overflow Bottle.

Hi Guys,

My 240Z doesn't have a radiator overflow bottle. So what? Yeah good point. 240Z's don't have one from the factory.

Well, I have an L28 in my 240Z and I would like to put one on. As she warms up it dumps water out. And as she cools down it sucks air back in. So the level in the radiator slowly creaps down. So I think one would make a great addition, but I want to do it neatly and properly (show car).

Has anyone fitted a over flow bottle to their Z? If you have, or even if you haven't can you recommend a bottle off an other car, or maybe even an aftermarket one that is easy to fit to a 240?

Thanks In Advance

Yeah, an inexpensive (ie Less than $70 for an entire bolt-in kit) kit is available from autobarn/repco and is pretty much about as simple and clean as it gets. All you have to do is find (or drill) 1 hole to bolt it in and splice (i think) a hose and voila!, you have yourself a clean, easy (1 hour, at most!!!) kit that does the job admirably!

Tell me how you get on if you use it, its a damn good cheap fix (sorry but I can't remember the brand!:stupid: )

Cheers!

Thanks

I'll have a look this tonight and see how neat the one they stock is. I want one that fits really neat, so neat that it looks like original equipment so I may have to see if I can use one off another car yet.

Anyone else got a suggestion?

Thanks

I was going to say, it seriously looks standard once fitted...its basically an opaque tank that once installed (ie properly!) looks like it should have always been there (albeit a bit newer than whats in the engine bay)...but yeah, my 2 cents anyway!

Cheers!!

Hey OzLime,

Did you know that the Z432 ( PS30 ) and Z432-R ( PS30-SB ) were fitted with Radiator Overflow Bottles from the factory?

The S20 engines have need of this, as they tend to "sweat" a bit, and the overflow bottle contains this without making a mess.

Its a long-shot, but you might like to enquire at your local Nissan dealer armed with the following part numbers:

21510-E4210 arse'Y TANK, reservoir

21430-E4200 arse'Y CAP, push

21515-E4200 arse'Y BRACKET, reservoir tank

The radiator on the S20-engined cars was different to the L-series engined cars, but the overflow pipe still comes out the same way so it ought to work.

What's the betting that your local Nissan parts guy says "what?!"....

Good luck,

Alan.
