Which Spring/Strut setup?

I am on sort of a budget, so I unfortunately can't go all out. Though I do want the best value for my money.

I want a nice ride, that handles well. More so handling then a smooth ride. What would be the best combination.

Tokico HP Shocks and Springs

KYB-GR2 Shocks and Eibach Springs

Tokico HP Shocks and Eibach Springs

Tokico HP Shocks and Euro Spec Springs

KYB-GR2 Shocks and Euro Spec Springs

These are really the only parts that I can find. Any other recommendations would be great.

I purchased the kyb-gr2 shocks and euro springs. The ride is right on. The height is too high. I have since switched the springs back w/ originals and made the height right on. The springs were not my problem, just the struts.

Lesson...try replacing just the struts. The springs may not need replacement.

Why not just cut the Euro springs Ramses? Nothing wrong with cutting springs, so long as you don't use heat (cutting torch) to do it. With a cutoff wheel you can cut 1/2 coil off at a time until the ride height is where you want it. That way you get the stiffer springs AND the desired ride height.

My impression is that most stock springs, especially in the rear, are pretty much sagged out. Plus they were much too soft to begin with, at least in my opinion.

A clubmember installed the Eibach springs from MSA with existing KYBs this past weekend and has commented that the ride is better than with the stock springs....Also lowered the ride height about 1".

I run the eibachs and tokico illuminas in my 240Z. They are set at 2 (front) and 3 (rear). It is a firm but comfortable ride considering how rude the 240Z is when compared to later Z's. The HP's are set at 3 I believe.

I installed the Euro springs with KYB G2 struts and am vary happy. My Z did set high with this combo. There are three of us here that bought the springs. Since they are not progressive , removing coils only lowers the car and does not stiffen the ride further like with a progressive would do. I wanted my car lowered from stock and I ended up with 2 1/2 coils off the front and 1 1/2 off the rear. She sets with a slight rake to the front. I did use energy-suspension bump stops on all four corners. I recommend that you remove about 3/4'' from the front ones . I didn't and it is fine but just a little more travel would be better. The car corners flat with vary little lean at all. I wanted a good ride and not stiff or hard. If I were to do it again , I wouldn't do any thing different. Except for the stops.
