Posted August 9, 200717 yr comment_217898 Hi I am from Western Australia.Over the years i have owned a few datsuns. Originally starting with a Datsun 1000 2 door. A15 Big cam Custom manifold electronic ignition and yes a holey 4 barrel. Upgraded brakes from an australian magna on the front. Upgaded suspension and tyres.Next was an RX7 and sold it after four weeks. Chrysler Valiant v8. Datsun 120y And a datsun 240k 2door.The 240k was one of my favourites. 2.8l modified cam twin su's from a triumph tc2500 or 2000 ie english carbies with no polution gear. Auto to manual conversion. Twin exhaust. Nismo seats. Larger brake upgrade. I still have the car but unfortunately a few years ago it was stolen and i got it back but suffered a thashing of it's lifetime. Oil spewing out everywhere. Broken engine mounts. Growling from the diff and gearbox. BAck tyres were destroyed. It is sitting in a shed on a friend property until i decide what to do with it.I purchased a 240z but sold it when i was given an offer three times what i payed for it. I regretted that now.Since then there was a mitsubishi cordia with a custom 2.4 L turbo engine. The car had electric windows and mirrors and air con. A few niceties but i am not a big fan of mitsubishi so that is gone.I own some sensible drivers now like a toyota landcruiser turbo diesel and a late model Holden Comodore. All resonably stock as a rock.I am wanting to build one last project car to hopfefully keep for many years and i am looking at the datsun z again.Being spoiled and getting older i do like the pleasantries of life like air con. Living in Western australia the summers can get to over 40 celcius (110 farenheit) and i do want to enjoy driving it on some of those days. .From what i have heard/read/researched only some of the 260z after 1974 had air con fittted. Does anyone know which australian models had A/C fited as an option.ThanksLuke Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/25155-long-time-datsun-owner/ Share on other sites
