Okay my Z has been out of commision for like almost 3 months i have finally finished my l28 swap ...feels great to finally actually drive my z again but...i do have a lil problem ...the engine aint receiving fuel it must be the fuel pump and i checked and and turned it over and removed the hose and turned it over and nothing came out but im sure the fuel pump works =[ ...well heres some pics

how sure are you that the fuel pump works? do you have enough fuel in the tank? do you smell gas? chances are that somewhere you disconnected a hose/line fron the fuel tank. go to the fuel tank and check all of the hoses, especially the 2 that come out near the fuel level sender.

also, you're going to be losing some power by not having air horns on them there SUs.... pick some up from MSA or cannibalize a stock back..... my $0.02

no im running some weian air filters i just took them off

and im sure my fuel pump workes cuz i can hear it sucking and it always worked

If the electric pump is running and you have zero or a low amount of flow. Then check the filter that is in between the pump and the tank.

im not using the elctric pump im using the mechanical

Well check the filter on the inner fender . Is it full of fuel? I have never been able to hear a mechanical pump over the sound of the engine running or turning over with the starter. If your pump is good it should be able to draw the gas from the tank, unless the line is plugged or a filter is clogged. If you disconnect the fuel line from the discharge side of the pump and connect a length of hose and put it in a gas can , have someone turn the engine over, you should have fuel flowing. If not and the line to the tank is not clogged , replace the pump. There are screens at the banjo fittings on each carb. If the pump proves good then check the screens for debris.

they air horns will go UNDER the filter. i'm sure someone has a pic.... they improve performance.

well the pump was working...and i sprayed starter fluid and then it just started...im so happy i get to drive her from now on =] and thanks gary
