So i ordered new brake cylinders for my 4/72 240Z from Black Dragon and when i

opened the left brake cylinder it had a big R inscribed in it. I was under the impression that the left would be labled with a L. THe box was labled with the right order though. Is this a mistake?? Or do they not give ones with an L anymore?

I bought mine from Nissan and they were marked the same way. Just compare the left one with the one that came off your car. They are sided and they are not interchangeable. If the part numbers match you are good to go. Gary

It came in a nissan box with different part numbers. the part numbers are not on the wheel cylinders though, just on the boxes and both wheel cylinders look exactly the same. Ive seen other wheel cylinders for sale on ebay and they where labled with an L. I spent the extra money to make sure i was getting the right part... guess i should have bought from ebay. I think im going to wait till monday to give Black Dragon a call. I was told that the right and left wheel cylinders where no interchangable.

Well just wanted to give everybody a quick update. Got to work on the brakes and found out the hard way that the wheel cylinder was the wrong part.

Where the brake line was didn't line up to the hole on the brake cylinder.

Black Dragon is sending me the last Left side 70-72 wheel cylinder they have in

stock. Back order will be 3-6 weeks. Or at least thats what they told me.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well i got the new wheel cylinders and found out that they where the same ones

that i got the first time. The brake line was set up to come on the bottom and not on the back like the original left wheel cylinder. I had to bend the brake line

(thank god it didn't break or kink) to make it fit. So long story short the wheel cylinders that Black Dragon sells will require modification to fit. I just wish they would have said something.
