Posted August 11, 200717 yr comment_218134 71 240Z, all stock. I get no spark from the coil. I've changed out the points for a known good set, same with condensor. Using a test light, I have power at both sides of the coil. I changed it out for another, I believe to be good, not sure. With ignition on, points open, I have power to both sides of the coil. Where do I go from here? It's been a couple of days since I tried last, and I can't remember what I had with points closed. I want to be sure that everything is operating correctly to the coil before I condemn it.Devin Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/25180-no-sparrk/ Share on other sites
August 11, 200717 yr Author comment_218155 To anybody looking in the future, I got it figgered out. I was losing power between the negative side of the coil and the points. I made a jumper wire that ran from the coil to the condensor and had power to the points. Fired right up. I hope this can help somebody else.Devin Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/25180-no-sparrk/#findComment-218155 Share on other sites

August 13, 200717 yr comment_218336 I hope that doesn't result in too much voltage going to the points which will result in premature wear. Haven't dealt with points for a while, my cars have EI, but as long as you're not bypassing the ballast resistor it should be okay.
