The center console and steering wheel appear to be later than '70. It looks like theres no radio either. Does anyone know this car or the VIN for it? Isn't there supposed to be a little plate on the console showing its from the program?

It does look like its in excellent shape either way. Im also no expert in how the cars were refreshed in the program.

My guess is that the description is accurate. He says it was restored by Bankston Nissan in Texas. He never said it was one of the program cars. As pointed out above, there are several details wrong for it to be a program car. But as a car 'restored' by the local dealer, it looks quite good. Assuming of course, they had a body shop that was good at finding and repairing rust.

Exactly what I was thinking.... Here in San Diego at Mossy Nissan in National City they restored a 1965 L320 Truck, they currently display it but if they were to sell, it would get the same description. A nice example regardless.

As a marketing tool to reintroduce the Nissan Z car in 2003, Dealers restored original 1970 240Z's to display in their showrooms. This 240Z was restored by Bankston Nisson, a dealer in the Dallas/Ft Worth area.

As Jamie of the mythbusters would say, "well, that's your problem right there". Wasn't the program launched in 1997?

EDIT: Montezuma, you kind of beat me to it.

i saw that and realized that the program was much earlier; i was thinking maybe the dealers knew the 350Z was coming? but then 6 years advance notice does seem like a lot...
