Hi all,

I have had reports that our website is flagged as 'soft porn' for some reason. I think it's probably due to some of our threads (boobs, cameltoe, and others) that may be offensive.

For this reason, I've created a forum for Members Only. This forum will only be visible to members of the club and NOT available to the public. The first forum I moved into this area is the Funnybone forum. The idea behind this move is that webcrawlers won't be able to enter the members-only area to find this kind of content.

Anyway, as a gesture to those who may want to get on this website at work, school, church, etc... I'm making this change. :) The "most popular" thread Boobs isn't going anywhere. It's just not available unless you're a member.

The speed racer chic's (Dizels's) photos are awesome! She's kind of holding things in a few of them. Do you think that this is what they might also mean.

It's amazing how many Yahoo slurp spiders are on the site. Never had any idea the computers would someday rise and outnumber us. :)

I wouldn't classify it as soft porn. They have stuff like this on network TV and some magazine covers. Someone might think a little less of us for it but it's not condemning. At least the shots pertain to the thread.:)

I do remember a while back on the boobs thread there was a nice shot of a chic in a revealing string swimsuit. The picture got deleted but there was some below the waist exposure. It wan't very long at all before the pic was off.

Is there a way of finding out who the site is registered with as being unsuitable?

Since I was the one who pointed it out to Mike, I can tell you that I found out during my evaluation of a commercial webfiltering product for use at work. The company is called 8e6 and is a well known and respected company for this type of product.

And it's my guess that if the site is on one company's blacklist, it's probably on a whole lot of them.

Arne,

Isn't there some means of appeal or of showing some sort of compliance that will get things off the list? In a way the very existence of the boobs thread being accesible to members makes this a potential "soft porn" site. By todays standards you just can't have fun anymore.

I once got pulled into the office to "testify" about a superiors inappropriate behavior at work. The infraction only involved me due to my witnessing his actions but he lost his job for something really petty. Despite my efforts to explain that he was innocent the witch hunt got the best of him.

Another funny case of over political overcorrectiveness was at a nightime welding job. Here we had six or seven guys getting dirty, cussing, and everything else that guys do but company policy had a ZERO tolerance for anything sexually referenced. No calendars, posters and no discussing chics in the breakroom etc. Unreal. The company had good reason since they had recently lost some $$ in a sexual harrasement suit. I understand it but...

We should be respectful to/around ladies but guys also need room to be what they are. To deny this is to turn us into a bunch of pantywaste sissys who can't swing a hammer to hit a nail. Unfortunately this is the direction that society at large is headed.

Unoading some frustration/Holding breath for this era to end and a better one to begin.

Oh I agree. All this stuff can be taken way too far. But part of my job is to attempt to prevent access to "inappropriate content" to kids while at school. Don't get me started on whether it is right to try to block access or not - it's my job to provide this "service" which is mandated by federal law.

There is a review process for sites on 8e6's blacklist. But the review is performed by a live human. If they register and go to the 'members only' forums and see what's there, I doubt the blacklist will be lifted.

I don't know if it would help, but what if the members only section was limited to members with a minimum number of posts (20???), or members registered before a certain date? That would keep the watchdog people from simply registering and logging into the members only section.
