turn signal frustration

Assuming it's the 240 you have..

There's a 3 or 4 pin (I think) harness near the pass door under the dash. Can't find my FSM but there's a picture of each harness that would help. The 4 pin harness at the tail lamp can also act up. Mine did. Try unplugging and replugging. (Check voltage at pins while you're at it.)

Did you check the sockets for corrosion and voltage?

This can also be faulty contacts inside the turn signal switch itself. Try this, turn on the right blinker, then step on the brakes. Let us know whether the right side brake lights come on or not.

Thanks for the feedback...yes, it is a 1970. Now that you mention it, the turn signals flash slower on the right(front) than the left back and front. Thanks to all for the comments. This is my 1st time on the site...you've all been very helpful.

Here's my suggestion, based on experience.....just bit the bullet and order a new combo switch assy.! IIRC, they're about $90.00. Being over 30 years old, the current one you have is most likey just worn out. I went through a number of electrical issue when redoing my 1970 and many of the issues involved circuits that run through this switch assy. Once I replaced it....no more issues.

OR.......

Send the switches to me and I'll rebuild them both for only $40, for the pair.

Arne is correct, The slide switch on your blinker assembly is most likely not making contact. I just went thru the same thing on my car.

Jimmy Z is also correct in the fact that the plug on the right kick panel could need a nudge or 2. corrosion and grounds in the Z's are funny that way.

If your interested in the service, email me at wolfin32zYahoo.com

Dave.
