... i would say that the original poster saw this forum as a place filled with friends, and chose to tell his story.

Unfortunately for him that was a mistake, and i can assure you he wont post something like that up here again due to the reaction.

if his personal friends give the same reaction, or ignore it completely, then he wont tell them either, and the behavior will most likely cease.

and yea, Im 28.

I would say this place IS filled with his friends, and we care enough to set him straight-ignoring is easy, calling him out on it is hard..

If you ever consult a professional counselor or a text on the subject or on parenting, I can absolutley assure you that ignoring is the treatment for aggravating behavior, not behavior that can lead to jail time.

Involvement is a caring attitude, neglect is a careless attitude-both have their place in teaching, but if we are his peers in his mind the reaction we gave should help him to grow past that phase.

Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone.

Dave.

DONT use that quote to try and justify this. It doesn't fly.

Now say sorry, congratulate him on finding and rescuing a very rare part and get on with your lives. As for the Z-GODS, they too are happy that the part is in better hands and will be resurrected from certain doom.

Congratulate him for being dishonest ????

Dave this is a load of $^!#. I am really surprised at this last statement of yours. You are raising 5 kids , is this kind of thing you are teaching them by your example? This guy is a THIEF ! I have no use or respect for any thief period. Weather he is steeling from a bone yard or your personal Z or your home, it is the same thing. NO DIFFERENT.

I agree completely. But the fact is that anybody who would steal something and then brag about it on an internet forum is not the type of person who has much in the way of personal mores and values. We're not going to change his mind.

In that light, it is worth remembering that there is an 'ignore' feature on this forum. A few of the people who have contributed to this thread have recently made mine.

I agree and have done so my self. Gary

It's too bad the original poster doesn't feel it in the gut to take the part back to the junk yard and put it back and or explain what he did and rightfully pay for it.

you guys can all go to hell

Quotes like this make me think somebody needs a warning.

That's all I"m going to say.

...i wouldnt steal from anyones car ...

The Fact remains, you did steal from someones car-the owner of the junk yard is someone, and the car you stole from was his.

You made a bad choice, but it is up to you to understand that, the fact that you keep coming back to this thread proves that you know better, you chose not to do better. If you can't bring yourself to make this time right, do better every next time.

I'm closing the thread. You have enough opinions, and nothing new has come up in a while. None of this is to chase you from the club, it is to help you become a more responsible member.
