Driving music

Think I found the perfect music to drive to. To each his own of course. The groups name is Rammestein. I've pretty much worn out my old Metallica, Judas Priest and Ozzy tunes while driving. This German band is AWESOME!!!!

Rammestein songs for Z driving

Du Hast

Engel

Ich Will

Links 234

Sonne

I fully do not expect everyone to agree but the music is perfect for city driving.

Jim,

I couldn't agree with you more!!!! Rammestien (i before e, a German thing) is most definitely a kick arse band. However, the only music I listen to while driving my Z is from L28! LOL

Tom

Yeah I had just posted right before you did with the correction. :)

Got their DVD "Lichtspielhaus" and it had these songs, their videos, live stuff and interviews which explained the videos/songs. The stuff makes more sense when you understand it.

I just like the raw feeling of the music w/o being distracted by lyrics.

When going over certain speeds the music is a distraction so I switch to channel L24 which has a little less bass than your L28. :)

Well, back when I got the car, THE music was Steppenwolf - Born to be Wild. However, by the mid-70s, I changed "tunes" and pulled the radio out and installed 3 gages where the radio used to be. After that, as Tom said, THE music was the sound of the engine going up and down gears. From 1977 to 1982, the "music" came from a 331ci SBC; from 1982 to present, the music is coming from an L-28...

ya, driving music in the Z is good old fashioned 10.5:1 L28 through tubular headers

but some good driving music that I like includes:

the faint

saosin

circa survive

evaline

scary kids scaring kids

the ataris

dead kennedys

misfits

bad religion

pennywise

jimmy eat world

and that's all i can think of right now....

OH! and the smiths and moz

and a little hepcat thrown in there, too

There are some tunes that I think make some good driving songs:

Panama, Van Halen

Jessica, Allman Brother Band

Peaceful Easy Feeling, Eagles

Highway To Hell, AC/DC

I Can't Drive 55, Sammy Hagar

Radar Love, Golden Earring

Roll With The Changes, REO Speedwagon

Copperhead Road, Steve Earl

Won't Get Fooled Again and Baba O Riley, The Who

Sharp Dressed Man, ZZ Top

Those are just a few I like to roll the windows down and cruise to.

I thought E-racer was making some of those bands up. Some I had heard of. (recognized about half) But "The Ataris"?? Pretty cool band once I got to their site. More stuff to check out for the Z-minded.

Hrududu,

Those are great driving songs but most of them have been played into the ground by the classic rock station(s). Van Halen, AC/DC, ZZ Top, and Eagles are awesome, timeless groups. I'm trying to find new stuff to break the monotony.

I've got mostly 70's/'80's music in my collection since IMHO music went to crap after the late '80's. There were a few good bands in the '90's. 60's- to late '80's were the best. Love the Stones and Zepplin but radio killed 'em for me.

Hey there JimmyZ,

If you have old vinyl that you like to hear, do what I've done, ... burn them to CD.

As for driving music, what about Gene Pitney's Trans Canada Highway and Last Chance to Rurn Around???? Might not appeal to the younger generation who go for the modern stuff that's called music these days though.

Rick.
