Brake booster ?

I have a 74 260 with a bad brake booster and Autozone does not sell one for it. Is there a different year or model that will be a direct bolt in alternative. Thanks

I remember a time when you could get rebuild kits easily. This sucks! Somewhere out there is a booster or kit on a shelf.

I'm sure you've seen pics of other boosters used in various Z's. I was once misinformed that a 280Z booster was a direct bolt in. This is desirable because it is a larger, more powerful booster than what the 240's came with. The fellow got it to work with a few mods.

There are a few links on the HybridZ site for swapping etc. I know you'd rather stick with the same setup though.

Depends, i consider the right part something that will work just as well or better than the factory part. I am not restoring this thing so the correct factory part is not important and i refuse to spend over $400 for a nos part. Just thought someone at sometime has installed a different booster than the factory replacement and it was a bolt in deal. The only computer access i have is here at work and it is very limited for content, so i cant go to hybridz to see what they have come up with.

Pep boy's says they can order one for the 74, so i may just go with that.

I was told that the older 240s had a different bolt pattern for the booster. and there is a 8in and a 10in a 2+2 has a different booster than a coupe. I have a 75 280 and pulled one from a older Z I'm not sure which model all the marking were gone so it could of been a 260 or late 240. But it fit my car.

To bad it was bad.. I ended up getting one from a 77 and you could not tell any difference from the three.

I would say hit the junk yards and pull one from a 280 and see what you find out. I'll bet it will fit.
