temp sensor

My temp sensor shows the hot a little past the middle to about the right corner of the M, Is this normal or should it be right in the middle. I recently installed a new therm stat sensor.

I also installed a new thermostat also. Im pretty sure i installed it correctly with the little bezel on the opposite side of the water inlet.

My car stays on the right corner of the 'E' with the AC on during a 100+ degreee day. Is your thermostat OEM or one of those with the smaller opening? Is your guage temp unit the correct one for your car? (The term 'temp sensor' is normally used for the EFI cars)

Mine used to stay dead center, but when the old stat died, my mechanic replaced it with an OEM one (while he had the car for other work). Now it does the same thing (goes to the edge of the M). Other posts have indicated that the aftermarket stats can cause the car to read hotter than OEM ones. I ordered a new Nissan OEM stat for it and will be replacing it when it arrives in an effort to get the needle back dead center.

My car started reading hotter on the guage after I replaced a bad stat with an aftermarket. Earlier this summer I got a Nissan OEM 170 degree stat, it helped some but still reads hotter than it used to on hot days.

There seems to be a trend in people replacing their thermostats then seeing higher than normal readings, even if the new stat is OEM.

I have a 180 Standard that i got from black dragon. It seems to stay around the same place so i don't think its over heating. I added a picture to my gallery, just waiting for approval.

Also have another question, where is oil pressure sensor at?

passenger side of the block, right there in the middle/bottom.

Screwed into the block, passenger side, just ahead of the oil filter.

^depends on the revs. at idle, mine is right where yours is and sometimes lower. while driving (not fully heated, it's about even with your temp gauge.

when my temp gets that high i get nervous
