Hello everyone,

Just wanted to enter a log about some of the server issues I've been having lately. This week I discovered the server had no more hard disk space and began a cleanup of files. From what I discovered my login directory had many copies of our old database and website files. Upon deleting most of that, we are now at 72% disk utilization. This is sufficient for our needs.

I also discovered that my automated backup routine was not deleting old backups and was creating new ones every night. Our backups are now over 7 gigs, so, this can eat disk space quickly.

There is one more issue I am digging into and that's the random stopping of the web service (httpd). I am not sure why it stops, but, my watchdog service will catch it and restart when necessary. While the watchdog is only a band-aid, I still need to dig into the problem and find out why it's stopping.

$50 should fix the problem for quiet some time on filling up the HDD. LOL

Do you have a server host, or do you have a box running from home or something?

I was wondering what was up during this time and why it took so long. I figured that it just crashed or something and a quick fix was all that was needed. Then when it took more then a day, I knew that something was up.
