Hey y'all,

I haven't yet tried to install this yet but my replacement diff mount is different from the one I removed. I am replacing the differential right now and if this won't work I may have to reuse the old one which is FUBAR. Has anyone else had this issue before?

Nate

Odd. The factory mount I got last May is the same as your old one. The new one looks like it will fit, and might actually be more durable with the larger bonded area on the one side.

Yeah, I've had it for over a year now and have been too lazy to put it in. I picked it up from MSA when I bought my spring struts and bushings. But now that I've got the Diff out...

Does anyone have a parts cross reference?

I noticed that part number before when I was reading this. I don't think you will have a problem.

I wonder if he made a typo? He wrote 55416, where as the one I have is 55415. I hope so... if not we now have a third player. I'm still a couple days out from mounting the new diff, so we'll see.

I replaced mine when I changed to a R-200 and actually my old one was still in vary good shape and I could have used it over again. Since I already had the new one in hand installed it . I think either would be just fine . I agree with Arne the newer mount looks to be stronger that's another reason I went with it. v8-240z , the maker of the spindle pin puller , also has a limiter that will stop the diff from lifting upon hard acceleration. This eliminates the need for the straps over the pumpkin. Gary

Thanks all for the input. I will be reassembling everything tonight or tomorrow. Now I just have to cross my fingers that the replacement diff is good.

Thanks!

Nate
